Evaluations are available at the request of family members concerned about a senior driver’s current skills, especially if there has been in a medical event such as a stroke or heart attack. Be sure your loved one is willing to participate and that their license is not on a medical suspension. If the license is suspended, the licensee will have received a letter of Notification of Suspension from the Traffic Safety Office in San Francisco. You will need to acquire a Temporary Instructional Permit from that office before an evaluation can be scheduled. It may be helpful to view the “Senior Guide for Safe Driving”, available online, in our office, or the nearest DMV office. Please call us for more information 546-3238. We will do our best to assist you through this process.
